Adventure in North Georgia

May 7th, 2010

Back in September, my friend Ashley saw an ad for a cabin rental in North Georgia, and decided we should take a weekend to get away from all the stress of the city, so we planned to take our trip right when the leaves on all the trees would be changing, to give us a nice picturesque escape to the mountains.

As it turned out, the weekend we booked happened to be some of the worst weather they had had in quite a while. I think we had about ten minutes of clear weather the entire weekend, and it rained cats and dogs the rest of the time, but the cabin was nice and cozy, so we were still able to enjoy ourselves.

Then one night while we were sitting in the cabin with a nice fire going in the fireplace, we heard some commotion out on the porch. We thought maybe the wind had knocked over a trash can or something, so I decided to go out and check. When I got outside the trash can was on it’s side, and there was a gigantic black bear digging around inside of it.

Needless to say, that was quite an unforgettable weekend. We’ll have to try for another trip soon and hope we have better luck this time!
