Windows Installer Error Threatens Friendship
December 11th, 2009
My mom doesn’t know how to do a lot of things on her laptop. She can do research and facebook and simple word-processing. That’s all she wants to be able to do, she tells us when we start to explain some other part of the wonderful world of computers. The other day I found her draped woefully over her laptop, tears trickling down her cheeks. She had convinced herself that the computer just didn’t like her. Its message, Windows Installer error, seemed a personal insult to my mother. She was ready to give her laptop away and admit defeat. I promised her that she had done nothing to cause this malfunction. Her computer could be fixed easily and would be her friend again soon. She smiled, hopefully.
