Great First Scooter

April 27th, 2010

When my not-terribly-coordinated four year old asked for a scooter for her birthday, I thought long and hard about the design that would work best for her. I knew she couldn’t handle a two-wheeler, because they are just too tippy for her body strength. But the ones with two wheels in the back seemed likely to trip her up as she pushed herself forward. I’m very pleased that we ended up with this model, which met both of these concerns. The center of gravity is toward the front of the scooter, because the two wheel base is in the front. While this may make quick turns slightly more unwieldy, the overall result is that my daughter can scoot quite comfortably, without any danger of toppling to one side. The cute pink color is also a plus, at least in my daughter’s book. Overall, I highly recommend this scooter, particularly for first-timers and children with smaller builds.
