Robbie was never the one for emergency medical alert device. But one incident changed it all.It was January 2007 and Robbie was driving along a rain-drenched stretch of road. While trying to avoid hitting a moose crossing his path, his car swerved, skidded off the road, and hit a tree. He ended up in a hospital with a broken jaw and a severely fractured rib cage. As fought to remain conscious, there was only one thing on his mind: “Do they know I am a diabetic?” Well, “they” got to know eventually, but only after Robbie got them to give him a notepad and a pen. The scribble was slow and painful, but he got his insulin. Robbie now wears an Medical Alert ID Bracelets that says “Type 1 Diabetes, Insulin Dependent.” He has got himself one in gleaming steel that goes with his macho image.
