Listening to the Eulogy for My Grannie
January 21st, 2010
When I was a child, my great-grandmother came to live with us for a short time, until her death. Her funeral was the first that I ever attended, and I will always remember that solemn occasion. Because I did not know Grannie that well, I was not as caught up in the sadness of the service. Instead, I studied each person gathered there and listened to the kind words given in the eulogy. This little old lady hadl ived a pretty amazing and courageous life, it seemed. She had traveled to America alone form the old country and never looked back. I really wish I could have known her longer and so much better.
