A Lot Dealing with Fossils
June 24th, 2010
We know about creatures that lived in the past (including not just dinosaurs, but other prehistoric animals and plants as well) since we have uncovered fossils. Fossils are the preserved remains or traces of these creatures, are normally uncovered within sedimentary rocks (which are formed when sand or mud is deposited and then compressed eventually turning to rock). The initial person to discover and scientifically describe a dinosaur fossil (although the word “dinosaur” had not yet been coined) was William Buckland. Buckland’s description of his discovery was published in 1824, and was entitled “Notice on the Megalosaurus or Wonderful Fossil Lizard of Stonesfield”. If you think the essay is informative you should also wish to be researching about Dinosaur Fossils For Sale.
