Keeping your Bank Account Safe

April 16th, 2010

Maintain a file of all your bank and credit accounts in a secure location – Once somebody steals your account, you can contact all of them right away and have them alerted in the risk of your account being taken by identity theft. On your file, take account of fraud departments, account numbers, customer service telephone number and expiration dates. Don’t always bring with you your passport, all your credit cards, Social Security card or birth certificate unless it’s quite necessary to do so. This significantly lessens the quantity of information that can be stolen from you by an identity thief. Avoid fraud, get an identity theft protection plan.
