Medical Discount Plans

Medical discount plans differ from true medical insurance in many ways. Depending upon the plan purchased, they may offer percentage discounts on doctor visits, emergency room care and certain prescriptions. There are often many exclusions on what procedures, medications, and doctors a patient can have discounted with their plan. In some cases, patients find that the discounts do not cover their medical needs nearly as well as true Alabama health insurance. It may be more difficult to obtain true medical insurance after patients make the switch to a medical discount plan.
