Flitration is Key

February 14th, 2010

Living in South Australia, there are a fair amount of people that use a rain water tank. We do this because during the hot summer months, we don’t have means to good water that is not expensive. The key to keeping the rain water fresh is filtering it. Otherwise, it is a breeding ground for larvae and other bugs like misquitoes. Although rain water is considered pure, there are contaminents that can get into the water from the roof or the rain gutters, so filtration is key. Although the health board does not recommend that you drink rain water, as long as you filter it first, there is not a problem.
