Safe Practices When Mixing Concrete

April 17th, 2010

Using portable cement mixers requires special precaution. They have several moving parts to include gears, belts, chain drives, and sprockets. The rotating mixing drum and/or paddles should always be observed carefully. And, don’t forget that electrical power can be hazardous. It’s also a good idea to dress properly by not wearing loose clothing or jewelry that can easily be caught in the moving parts. Pay attention to your work area and make sure it’s kept clear of debris and obstructions that can cause someone to slip or trip. Always wear protective devises such as hair covering to contain long hair.
