Be Careful What You Wish For

I had always dreamed of buying an old Victorian home and restoring it. My husband and I finally reached the age where we could afford the investment and found one that we fell in love with. It was pretty bad in places and at some point the basement had been flooded. We knew there was some mold down there, but we really had no idea what we were in for.
We called up a water damage company and had them come out to completely access the problem. We ended up having to take out a lot the flooring because it had mold underneath it and the ancient plumbing in the bathrooms had caused mold upstairs as well. It was a much bigger undertakng than we ever imagined. It almost made us wish we had chosen a different home, but when it was all over, we did have our dream house, but it was a lot of work.
