Tropical Fish Food Tips for Beginner Aquarists
May 3rd, 2010
When choosing tropical fish food, it is essential to keep in mind that certain varieties may not be the best fit for your fish. Also, certain species will do best with a dried food diet while others will thrive better when their diets are introduced with fresh food at regular intervals. Many beginners however, prefer choosing dried foods because they are easier to maintain and are not prone to decay and infection.
The manner of feeding your tropical fish should also be taken into high consideration. It is important not to overfeed your fish with tropical fish food as well. Not only will this result in health problems, but left over food particles in the tank can cause contamination. It is more advisable to feed less but more often, than to overfeed your aquatic pets and at long intervals. Many fish food products contain feeding instructions on their label, and beginner aquarists will do best to follow the guide on proper fish feeding.
