A Card for Emergencies

When my son went off to college I helped him get one of those prepaid cards. He worked all summer before leaving for college and put that money toward his credit limit, and his dad and I matched the amount that he contributed. He also has a job lined up for a few hours a week while he’s in school, but we’re really want him to concentrate on his studies and limit his working hours. The credit card is only for emergencies or places that won’t take any other method of payment. It should also help him get his credit established for the future.
