When you are undergoing any type of strength training program to slim down and tone your abdominal muscles, it is extremely important that you pay special attention to a certain set of muscles known as your transverse abdominals. These muscles interconnect your abdominals with your back muscles as well with your rectal muscles. Unfortunately, the two most commonly known ab exercises, namely sit ups and crunches, tend to neglect the transverse muscles. No matter how many reps of these you perform, your transverse abs won’t benefit.
