What is Podiatry?

Podiatry is the clinical discipline that is interested in the prevention, examination and treating problems of the feet along with relevant issues. Podiatrists take care of many conditions that range from flat feet to calluses to bunions to sports injuries to ankle sprains. They use a wide range of treatment procedures which range from medical to mechanical to physical therapy to adjustment. Podiatric physicians operate in many of places from private practice to local community wellness centres to public hospitals. The scope of clinical practice of the podiatrist or what they can actually perform will range substantially from state to state as well as varies according to the education they get.
